In a significant development in international trade relations, the Tariff Commission of the State Council of China has decided to extend the exclusion period for certain goods from the United States.

According to the “Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Ninth Exclusion Extension List of Tariffs Imposed on the United States” (Tariff Commission Announcement 2022 No. 10), the exclusion period, which was set to expire on May 31, 2023, will now be extended.

This means that from June 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, the goods listed in the annex will continue to be exempt from the additional tariffs that China has imposed in response to the US 301 measures.
