The Philippine Intellectual Property Office has issued revised rules and regulations for trademarks, service marks, trade names, and marks or stamped containers. Effective February 14, 2023, the new regulations extend protection to non-traditional visual marks and implement a mandatory online filing system.
All communications must be transmitted via e-TMFile and eDocFile, and the Trademark Office will send communications by email. Trademark applicants or their agents/representatives must ensure that up-to-date email addresses are provided in the system.
