Rwanda and Alibaba establish Africa’s first e-platform for world trade

The Rwandan government has signed an agreement with Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba to establish Africa’s first electronic world trade platform (eWTP). This platform will allow Rwandan goods to be sold through Alibaba’s e-commerce platform to over 500 million consumers, expanding trade and encouraging SME growth. Alibaba will also ensure that Rwandan goods meet international standards.
